MPhil Islamic Studies in aiou. the Department of Qur'an and Tafsir offers specialization in Quran and Tafsieer program.
Introduction of MPhil Islamic Studies Qur'an and Tafseer
The program started in fall 2013 and is still ongoing. With specialization in Qur'an and Tafsir, MPhil Islamic Studies students are required to complete specific coursework and research work under the supervision of a highly qualified supervisor. This program takes 2 to 5 years to complete.
The department hires supervisors from almost all Pakistani public sector universities, enabling students to complete course work with qualified tutors.
This program is designed to conduct research in various fields of Quranic studies so that new dimensions of understanding of Islam can be discovered under the guidance of the Quran.
The program provides scholars with the opportunity to make independent critical judgments through research skills to serve Islamic and Muslim communities.
MPhil Islamic Studies Qur'an and Tafseer Eligibility Criteria
Master's degree in Islamic Studies, both MA and BA from any recognized university with minimum second division pass.
Candidates with First Division in MA Islamic Studies and Third Division in BA are also eligible to apply. However, preference will be given to candidates who have passed all degrees with First Division.
HEC approved federal graduates can also apply for admission with Al Shahadat Ulmia degree but they must have B.A from any recognized university and intermediate and SSC from any recognized secondary and intermediate board.
Method of selection of candidates
Candidates will be selected on the basis of merit/criteria prescribed by the Department/University.
